Job Description

Main Accountabilities:Performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant equipment. Performs skilled repair and maintenance on electrical components and equipment in wastewater treatment plant. Repair work is performed from daily inspections or from reports from plant operators, work orders or immediate supervisor.ÿLevel of Responsibility:

  • Equipment: electrical tools ? Safety Equipment.
Level of Communication:
  • Internal Communication: with all the branch employees
  • External Communication: Subcontractors related to mechanical activities.
Detailed
  • Check and maintain pumps, motors, filters, belts, compressors, piping and piping connections at plant and pumping facilities. Monitors operational status and performance of plant equipment, coordinates maintenance and repair with plant staff.
  • Read Supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA software to detect errors if any
  • Interprets performance data, evaluates testing data and performance, and shall maintain performance data records and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Install, inspect and test electric meters, relays, and power sources to detect causes of malfunctions and inaccuracies.
  • Troubleshoot individual pieces of electrical equipment, evaluate and diagnose system deterioration or failure. Perform repairs on chemical feed systems, odor control systems, screens, filters and related equipment.
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance, adjustment and repair to a variety of equipment, machinery, and control systems in treatment plant.

  • Use proper safety equipment; follow the Health & Safety instructions.
  • Record maintenance information, including test results, material usage, and repairs made.

  • Environment: Wastewater treatment, laboratory and high voltage environment; exposure to wastewater, chemicals and high voltage.
  • Physical: Sufficient physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, use stairs in the performance of duties for prolonged periods of time. To work around motorized or moving equipment and machinery. To occasional lift up to 22kg. To spend time using hands to handle, control, or feel objects or tools. To work under adverse conditions, this may involve unpleasant odors.
Work according to shift hours. Must be available to handle emergency situations after hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Vision: See in the near visual range with or without correction; the ability to see details at close range.
  • Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
